Choose Your Fighter with Giglio Tigrato

Giglio Tigrato introduces its fighters, launching a new t-shirt ‘Choose Your Fighter’, designed by Ansperto Radice Fossati & inspired by the Chinese Zodiacs.

We want to tell you the story of how the Chinese Zodiacs came to exists and how their order was determined.

The story is called: “The Great Race”
It all starts in the period of the Jade Emperor, the Emperor demanded that each animal should cross the river. The order in which the animals would arrive is the order that determines the calendar of the Chinese Zodiacs.

The Cat and the Mouse both had a plan of their own, because both unable to swim chose the intelligent way by climbing on the always kind and naïve back of the Ox.

Close to the finish the Mouse pushed the Cat of the back of the Ox and sprinted towards the emperor.
The Mouse finished first, the Ox finished second.
The Cat drowned due to the cruel intentions of the Mouse and never obtained a place in the twelve zodiacs. After the second place was given away the third place went to the Tiger even though the currents were pushing him back the Tiger was able to finish thirdly.

Fourth came the Rabbit it was smartly jumping from one stone to another to cross the river. However, halfway through the Rabbit slipped and almost lost. Thankfully the Rabbit was lucky enough to hold on a floating log.

With a lot of surprise, the Dragon ended up being the fifth to arrive. Astonished the emperor asked the Dragon why a mystical creature like itself didn’t arrive first. He then said he stopped on its way to help some villagers. After this he noticed the Rabbit holding on to a log and send a breeze of air his way making sure the Rabbit would finish.
Due to the Dragon’s kind nature he finished fifth.

A galloping sound was coming closer, the Horse appeared. However, the Snake was hiding behind the Horse’s hoof, frightening the Horse and falling back. The Snake ended up being in the sixth place. The Horse in the seventh.

An unexpected turn appeared. Three zodiacs were collaborating in the race of the emperor. The Rooster found a raft on which the Goat & Monkey hopped on as well. Working together through the strength of the water streams and weeds in the river. The emperor gave the eight place to the Goat, the Ninth to the Monkey & the tenth to the Rooster.

The Dog ended up at the eleventh place. Distracted by the joy of being in the water, it got distracted and arrived late even while being an excellent swimmer. The emperor was about the close the race when the last animal arrived. The Pig. The animal got hungry halfway through, ate something and fell asleep. He finished at the twelfth place.
